Maryam Rajavi, the leader of the National Council of Resistance of Iran, says Western powers stand “against the Iranian people’s will.
The president-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), Maryam Rajavi, called on European leaders to cut off the financial lifeline to the Islamic Republic of Iran in order to further put pressure on the regime for its eventual downfall.
The call for action came Saturday during a video broadcast to the 2018 Iran Uprising Summit held in New York. More than 1,700 supporters of the NCRI and the People’s Mujahadeen of Iran (PMOI/MEK) gathered to hear information on the status of the uprisings across their home country and to share ideas on how to push for a new, democratic Iranian republic.
The gathering was headlined by Rudy Giuliani, attorney for President Trump, as well as other dignitaries.
Ms. Rajavi described recent horrific, desperate actions by the regime as she requested European and American support for the cause, “In committing these crimes, the mullahs are testing Western governments. In such circumstances, a lack of resolve or a passive attitude by Western governments will intensify the regime’s terrorist actions.”
On October 21, 1993, the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), the parliament-in-exile, elected Mrs. Maryam Rajavi as the president-elect for the transition period after the mullahs’ overthrow
Undoubtedly, in the desert of fundamentalism, which is the major threat to the world in our era, a star of hope must be found. This star not only does annihilate the fundamentalists’ regulations and thoughts but also inspires a shining future. Many Iranians, whose country is under the rule of the worst kind of fundamentalism, believe that the president-elect Maryam Rajavi symbolizes this hope.
In her speech against fundamentalism on March 6, 2015, president-elect Maryam Rajavi stated:
“In reality, the crux of the conflict is not between Islam and Christianity. Nor is it between Islam and the West, and nor between the Shia and the Sunni. The conflict is over freedom versus subjugation and dictatorship, between equality on the one hand and oppression and misogyny on the other.”
President-elect Maryam Rajavi, as a symbol of the Iranian struggle toward freedom, believes: “
Women are not immune anywhere from medieval constraints and pressures, such as social and economic inequalities, compulsory hijab, the extended gender discrimination in universities, schools, and even buses. Worse, these medieval constraints and pressures include even young girls.
But in the face of the mullahs’ misogyny, there is a hope, symbolized in the president-elect Maryam Rajavi. She lays out a unique roadmap for achieving women rights in a free Iran, including:
Fundamental freedoms and rights
Equality before the law
Freedom of choosing one’s own clothing
Equal participation in political leadership
Equality in the economic sphere
Equality in the family
Prohibition of violence
Prohibition of sexual exploitation
Repealing Mullahs’ Sharia laws
Social benefits
In fact, the roadmap of the president-elect Maryam Rajavi is the same as the dream that the Iranian women expect to enjoy in a free Iran.
President-elect Maryam Rajavi, the nightmare of the inhuman mullahs
Now Iranian women are in the forefront of an uprising that has shaken the earth under the feet of the mullahs’ regime. An uprising that because it is linked to the organized resistance, led by the president-elect Maryam Rajavi, is growing day by day. Therefore, the president-elect Maryam Rajavi, who inspires millions of Iranian protestors, has turned into the nightmare of the Velayat-e Faqih’s regime and the mullahs clearly realize their end will come by the and her supporters.
President-elect Maryam Rajavi: the reviver of “Humanity”
As many freedom-loving Iranians and international figures admit, the reality is that the name of the president-elect Maryam Rajavi is tied with the most important achievements of the resistance of the Iranian people and thus her role and the power of her leadership during the harshest situations of the resistance’s history is praised.
But the origin of the great determination of the president-elect Maryam Rajavi should be sought in her beliefs, in which “Humanity” is the highest value of all. In fact, that is the belief that prompts human values in everyone who meets her arousing an army of prominent personalities and politicians from five continents of the world to support her in achieving a free Iran.
President-elect Maryam Rajavi, the one who will make Iran great
Unfortunately, the 40 years legacy of the mullahs is nothing social, economic and cultural crisis for the people of Iran. In the regional and international arena, the mullahs have demonized Iran’s face by wasting the national wealth on the export of terrorism, obtaining an arsenal of missiles and trying to achieve nuclear bombs.
But at the end of this dark tunnel, there is a light that promises the end of this darkness and ruin.
The herald of a splendid Iran where the talents of oppressed women and youth will flourish and the national funds will be spent on the development and growth of the Iranian industry and agriculture.
A country that seeks prosperity and happiness for its own people and leads the Middle East, which is caught in fire and blood, towards peace and stability; a country whose highest national treasure is its human lives and where no laws trump the will of people.
Yes, this is an Iran that the president-elect Maryam Rajavi is committed to accomplishing and has promised it several years ago in her amazing platform.
Free Iran with the president-elect Maryam Rajavi
On July 30 this year, more than 100,000 Iranian dissents gathered to realize the goal of free Iran at Villepinte at the suburbs of Paris.
A goal, which has been supported by hundreds of prominent international figures who attended this gathering, thanks to the efforts of the president-elect Maryam Rajavi.
In this gathering the president-elect Maryam Rajavi said among the Iranians reveling the event:
INU - During the recent Free Iran gathering, organised by the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) and the People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), former MEP Struan Stevenson gave a stirring speechabout the Iranian people and their opposition, comparing the ongoing uprisings in Iran to a volcanic eruption, noting that things in Iran will soon change forever.
He said: “I’ve been transfixed watching television over the last month about the volcano in Hawaii. Looking at the constant tremors, the earthquakes, the explosions. And it occurred to me before coming here that that geophysical phenomenon has a lot in common, a lot in parallel with the political situation in Iran… there is going to be an eruption of volcanic proportions which sweep away this evil regime.”
That uprising began in late December, spreading quickly across 142 cities in 31 provinces with hundreds of thousands of people taking to the streets. The Regime responded with violence, sending in their brutal security forces to kill at least 50 people, arrest 8,000, and torture 14 to death in prison.
Stevenson said that the people of Iran have had enough of the mullah’s malign behaviour, including stealing money from the Iranian people, propping up the Bashar Assad dictatorship in Syria and financing terrorist proxies (i.e. Hezbollah) across the Middle East. That is why the Iranian people are chanting “Death to [Supreme Leader Ali] Khamenei” and “Death to [President Hassan] Rouhani”, exposing the notion of Regime moderates as false, and siding with the MEK and its leader Maryam Rajavi.
Stevenson also advises that the Regime can recognise the warning signs, which is why the mullahs have started to point the finger at the MEK and Maryam Rajavi as the organisers of this protest. This is strange, as the Regime constantly portrays the MEK as an insignificant group that was not popular in Iran. Even the mullahs now admit, that where Maryam Rajavi leads, the Iranian people will follow.
He said: “They fear [Maryam] Rajavi, and the reason they fear [Maryam] Rajavi is because they fear democracy, they fear justice, they fear freedom.
Stevenson then went onto explain how Europe should get tough on Iran by withdrawing from the 2015 nuclear deal and reimposing sanctions, as the US had done as this will help bring the downfall of the Regime.
He said: “I have a message for all those European companies who seem to have forgotten the words human rights when they try to sign these rich commercial deals with the Iranians. For every dollar that they make in Iran they’re going to lose a thousand dollars in America. The reality is they cannot continue to do business with this evil Iranian regime.”
Stevenson went onto explain that Maryam Rajavi, as the leader of the MEK and NCRI, deserved an invite to the UK, as she has already visited many other capitals in Europe He concluded: “We are facing very quickly the volcanic eruption that I spoke about. We are facing the end of this regime and it is our job to see that [the MEK], and [Maryam] Rajavi are in [a] position to take power, to restore democracy, restore freedom, and restore justice to the people of Iran. They are praying for that day.”
Al Arabiya, 18 October 2017 - Following a week of political roller coaster, doubts and strategic calculations, the US foreign policy team unveiled its new policy on Iran and measures to address the catastrophic nuclear deal, better known as the JCPOA.
During a 20-minute speech on 13 October, President Trump laid out the major points of this new policy, which include the decertification of the JCPOA and designation of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) pursuant to the global terrorism Executive Order (E.O.) 13224.
Aside from decertifying the nuclear deal, the announcement of President Trump marks a major policy change that effectively ends the two-decades long failed policy of appeasement against Iranian regime and its malignant role in four corners of the world.
In 1997, in order to satisfy Tehran’s ruling theocracy, the then President Clinton designated Iran’s main opposition group, the PMOI/MEK as a Foreign Terrorist Organization. This decision helped regime to spread its hegemony and terrorism around the Middle East and the world under the pretext of “Dialogue between Civilizations”.
“The regime has consistently prolonged its grip on power by capitalizing on international conflicts, especially disagreements between Western democracies and its allies”
Hamid Bahrami
Now, the US policy has shifted to cut the regime’s tentacles and protect the US, its allies and their interests in the region. Immediately after President Trump’s speech, the EU expressed its concern over the US abandoning the JCPOA.
On the other hand, Israel and Saudi Arabia welcomed the new policy toward Tehran. The Iranian society and community abroad for their parts looked for the reactions on the announcement, first from the regime itself and second from the main Iranian opposition movement, the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI).
A few hours after President Trump’s speech, the Iranian citizens witnessed the so-called moderate President Hassan Rouhani’s twitchy eyes while he read his statement which was full of deceptive lies and obvious contradictions.
End of the appeasement era
Although, expressing support for the NCRI is punishable by death in Iran as the regime cracks down on popular dissent, a majority of Iranian social media users shared the statement by NCRI’s President-elect Maryam Rajavi as she welcomed “the end of the appeasement era.”
Indeed, the Iranian people always welcome any increased pressure on the Iranian regime and specifically its brutal paramilitary force, the IRGC, which plays a key role in suppression of civil society. Furthermore, the IRGC is the main force behind the crippling economic corruption, which have sparked thousands of popular anti-regime protests around the country during the last few months.
The designation of IRGC as Specially Designated Global Terrorists (SDGTs) will not only affect the regime’s vital arteries but also break the ubiquitous repression and atmosphere of fear in Iran.
To uproot the cancer that is the IRGC, the US should concentrate its efforts inside Iran. Nearly all of Iran’s financial systems are in IRGC’s hands, which it utilizes to fund and arm terrorist groups, with the full knowledge of the Rouhani government that earlier this year decided to increase its budget.
Hence, all companies and countries that trade with any section of the regime are practically risking to fund and engage with the IRGC.
Anti-regime protests
Today, there is a significant growth of anti-regime protests across Iran, most of them related to economic and civic demands. Considering that the Iranian people are just weighing opportunities to overthrow the entire regime, it will be helpful if the US highlights human rights issues and recognizes the Iranian Resistance movement, the NCRI.
Following these actions, the IRGC will get stuck in a domestic crisis and consequently expelling it from the region will be less expensive. The theocracy in Tehran will try to bypass sanctions and strengthen its capabilities by exploiting the lack of a coherent Iran strategy between the US and the EU.
Indeed, the regime has consistently prolonged its grip on power by capitalizing on international conflicts, especially disagreements between Western democracies and its allies.
In this regard, one must ask the EU countries and European leaders why they are so eager to appease a corrupt regime in Tehran that has no future and that only survives by persecuting its own people and spreading terrorism and Islamic fundamentalism.
What is obvious, both the US and the Iranian people’s national interests are aligned and the EU should know that dictators will not last forever.
